Author Lisa Taddeo, in conversation with author Stephanie Danler, will present and discuss his new book, Animal.

Animal illustrates one woman’s exhilarating transformation for prey to predator, in this debut novel from the author of Three Women. Lisa Taddeo presents the story of Joan, who has spent a lifetime enduring the cruelties of men. It’s a depiction of female rage at its rawest, and a visceral exploration of the fallout from a male-dominated society.

Shannon Kenny Carbonell’s book, All Is Not Lost, is the story of what happened when one woman set aside a lifelong dream in favor of her kids, only to find herself battling her own ego and unfulfilled ambition. Cover to Cover Reading Club for Kids, from October 5^th – November 13^th – Kids Event

Stop by the Orange Public Library & History Center to sign up for the In-N-Out Cover to Cover Reading Club, which will run until November 13^th. Kids ages 4-12 are eligible to participate. For every five books read, each child will receive a Cover to Cover Achievement certificate redeemable for one hamburger, cheeseburger, or gilled cheese. Earn up to three certificates per child, while supplies last.

UCLA WP Writers Project Teachers Event – Online

UCLA Writing Project presents: Launching Writer’s Workshop (Grades Pre-K – 6^th), and online event held for five “packed” days, June 22 – June 26.

We’ll immerse ourselves in the nitty-gritty of Writer’s Workshop: helping students generate topics, constructing pointed and powerful mini-lessons, incorporating mentor texts, responding to young writers, and dabbling in publishing and celebration options, too. All will learn the experience being a writer in a workshop classroom. (May be eligible for LAUSD PD hours)
