Los Angeles Literature Events 9/10/18 –9/16/18

downloadConchas y Café Adult Writing Class at Vernon-Washington Memorial Branch Library, LAPL

This writing program for adults, seniors, and Spanish speakers is a 10-week creative writing class offered by the nonprofit DSTL Arts and results in a quarterly anthology of the writing produced in this program. A public reading and release party celebrates the culmination of each 10-week series.

p382Conchas y Café Zine: Adult Creative Writing Workshop at Baldwin Hills Branch Library – Adults & Seniors Event

Please join us for Conchas y Café, a program offered by the nonprofit, DSTL Arts, a 10-week creative writing class, offered in English and Spanish for adults of all ages Participants learn new techniques in poetry, storytelling, and zine-making throughout the 10-week series, and also have the opportunity to publish and present their work in the Conchas y Café Zine, a quarterly anthology of writing produced through this program. A public reading and release party celebrates the culmination of each series

Los Angeles Literature Events 6/11/18 –6/17/18

downloadSummer Author Series, with Anthony Sacre, at Mar Vista Library–Kids Event

Please join us for our Summer Author Series, and to hear Anthony Sacre discuss and read A Mango in the Hand. He uses stories, folktales and myths from his Cuban-American upbringing, as well as his many visits to Mexico, to encourage all listeners to find their own stories through the magic of books!

Cool off this summer by meeting and connecting with authors at your local library. Check LAPL website for events at various branch libraries and locations. Refreshments are provided, and lucky winners will receive a free copy of the author’s book.
