Author Mietek Bosduszynski will discuss and sign his book, US Democracy Promotion in the Arab World. Should the US offer more support to the Middle East and Northern Africa to democratize? Join us in a discussion with an expert on the Balkans and the modern Middle East and North Africa, especially Iraq, Libya and Egypt.

The author teaches U.S. Foreign Policy at Pomona College, and was a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State at postings in Albania, Kosovo, Japan, Egypt, Libya and Iraq.

The Book Writers Group meets every first Monday of the month at the Robertson Branch Library. Are you writing a book and looking for feedback? Need deadlines to help you reach your writing goals? Then this is the group for you!

For each meeting, please bring 5-10 double-spaced  pages of writing to share with the group. Every member will have time to present his/her writing and receive constructive feedback.

Depending on the size of the group, each person will receive 10-15 minutes of time to share and  receive feedback.

Our weekly Conchas y Café Zine – Bilingual Community Writing Workshops are free and open to adults.  This program offered by DSTL Arts, provides a 12-week creative writing workshop for adults of all ages. Participants learn more about creative writing, poetry, publishing, zine-making, and more, while receiving writing exercises and feedback on their work. Participants also have the opportunity to publish and  present their work in a zine of writing produced through the program. A public reading and release party celebrates the culmination of each 12-week series.
