Gary Dop’s first collection of poems “Father, Child, Water” was published by Red Hen Press in the spring of 2015. Ramón Garcia is the author of “Other Countries” and “Ricardo Valverde” and is a professor at California State University, Northridge and lives in Los Angeles. Jacqueline Suskin discusses her book “Go Ahead & Like It,” an artistic, smart, self-help book with Mandy Kahn. Jacqueline Suskin is best known through her work with Poem Store, a public performance project in which she composes custom verses on a manual typewriter in exchange for donations. Cal Arts: MFA Reading
Come join Calarts’ MFA Writing Class of 2015 at the Last Bookstore for their last reading of the year! Sarah Leslie, Paul Christian, Stephanie Taglianetti and Lauren Artiles will read excerpts from their forthcoming theses, hybrid works of poetry, fiction, and literary screenplay. There will be food and drinks provided, and a reception/celebration to follow! If you like surreal imagism, family pathos, scary stories and Keanu Reeves, or if you were also once a baby, this is your literary event of the season. Copies of the 2015 class anthology, Ephemera, will be available for purchase as well; all proceeds go towards the Calarts Community Arts Partnership writing program, which works with high schoolers across the LA area.

Fourth Sundays
Fourth Sundays: Poetry at the Claremont Library presents a poetry reading featuring Jenny Factor and Frank Montesonti. The reading is free and open to the public. Light snacks are provided and poets will have copies of their books to purchase. Jenny Factor’s poems have been featured in numerous anthologies, including “The Best American Erotic Poems” (2008), “Poetry 180: A Turning Back to Poetry” (2003) among others. She lives in San Marino, California. Frank Montesonti is the author of two full-length collections of poetry, “Blight, Blight, Blight”, “Ray of Hope.” Long Time resident of Indiana he now lives in Los Angeles and is the lead faculty of the MFA program at National University.
