Always-Running_Website-Banner-2Luis J. Rodriguez’s Always Running in Theatre Adaptation at Casa 0101

The stage adaptation of the acclaimed Luis J. Rodriguez memoir and award-winning book, Always Running, is being performed at the CASA 1010 Theatre August 31 – October 20, 2019, so check website links to purchase tickets and select dates from the full schedule. This play/memoir tells the story of a young man who escapes a life of gang violence, discrimination, depression, and drug addiction through art, the Chicano movement poetry and service.

Her approach is radically different from teaching methods commonly seen in school settings, as she personally sits down with the kids and delivers her lessons through song. It’s her innate gift for teaching and ability to create beautiful songs for each lesson that set her apart as a teacher and as a school.

While they said “it does feel violating,” it seems as though it was random and opportunistic. The space wasn’t damaged or trashed, but they did have a good deal of electronics and other valuables stolen.
