After all these years, I finally attended Two Idiots Peddling Poetry. I finally got to the Ugly Mug in historic downtown Orange. I’ve always respected and appreciated the space they hold for people to express their reality, a place where writers can share their work in the Southland’s expansive literary scene.

Over the course of the past year and a half, with organizations, museums, and theaters, among other venues, having to move their events online due to the pandemic, they have connected with so many friends old and new, who are not local to their physical event space.

As more of the Los Ángeles literary community returns to in-person events, two long-running Orange County open mics, Two Idiots Peddling Poetry and Shout! the Open Mic, are joining forces, as Two Idiots said on Facebook, to “maintain an online reading.” They want to “continue to connect with our extended community beyond the borders of Southern California.”
