This week in the Greater Los Angeles literary community, there are readings, conversations, open mics, and workshops for readers and writers. The week concludes with the 3rd Annual East Los Book Festival on Saturday at the East Los Angeles Civic Center. Some writers appearing at the festival are: Viet Thanh Nguyen; Herbert Siguenza, founding member of the theatre troop Culture Clash; Brenda Vaca, poet and founder of local Riot of Roses Publishing House; and Diosa Xochiquetzalcóatl, among others.
