Made in L.A. Writers was founded as an indie author co-op of L.Á. based indie writers dedicated to the support of independent writers. Their styles, themes and story locals differ, but their work is strongly influenced by their hometown and underpinned by the diverse culture and life of L.Á.

During this time of social unrest, the country visibly upset over the continued killing of innocent black men and wemen at the hands of police, the Los Angeles Poet Society has issued a submissions call for social justice poems. On Facebook they announced:
MORIA, the literary journal at Woodbury University in Burbank, California, is open for submissions for their Fall issue until October 1, 2019.
