Author Terry Miles, in conversation with author Cory Doctorow, will present and discuss his new book, Rabbits.

Terry Miles’s new book depicts how a deadly underground game might just be altering reality itself in this new adventure set in the world of the hit Rabbits podcast. Rabbits is a mysterious alternate reality game so vast it uses the entire world as its canvas. Since the game started in 1959, ten iterations have appeared and nine winners declared. The deeper you get, the more dangerous the game becomes, and when K—a Rabbits obsessive—enters the eleventh round, the fate of the entire universe is at stake.

Women’s History Month: Tessa Boase & Etta Lemon: The Woman Who Saved the Birds via The Ebell of Los Angeles – Virtual Event                                 

Author Tessa Boase will present and discuss her book, Etta Lemon: The Woman Who Saved the Birds, in England as she tells the intriguing story about woman’s love affair with plumes. For fifty years Etta Lemon was the driving force behind the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, and where she led in 1889, the Audubon Society would follow author and former investigative journalist Boase will bring to life the untold story of women, birds, hats—and votes.

Author Stephen Gee joins us to present, discuss and sign his new book from Angel City Press, Los Angeles City Hall: An American Icon, one of our most enduring local landmarks. When it opened its doors in 1928, the new Los Angeles City hall was the tallest building in the city and more than half a million people lined the streets to celebrate its dedication. It was a bold symbol of the ambition of America and its people. This book also contains a forward by Eric Garcetti and photographs by Sandra Stojanovi.

LiveTalksLA presents a series of literary events (and podcasts) to meet and hear cultural and business leaders present and discuss their work. Tonight, actor and debut author Sean Penn discusses his novel, Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff. He has been nominated five times for an Academy Award as Best Actor, and won the 2003 award for Mystic River and the 2009 award for Milk. He has also garnered awards for his directing and writing, and has written about political issues for various journals.  This book is a darkly humorous novel, a revised and expanded work based on an audiobook he released in 2016.

Jane Smiley is the Pulitzer Prize winning author of A Thousand Acres, and the author of The Last Hundred Years Trilogy, five works of nonfiction, and a series of YA books.
