Library Foundation of Los Angeles’ ALOUD Series Update

downloadI received this email last week from the Library Foundation. It’s about the revamped ALOUD Reading Series. I know everybody in the Los Angeles literary community was upset last fall when the Library Foundation abruptly announced sudden changes to its staff–the firings of ALOUD Director Louise Steinman and Associate Director Maureen Moore–and to its central program, ALOUD, a program no one thought needed any retooling. However, major retooling has befallen ALOUD, and according to this email, very little, if any, literary programming is actually featured in any of its announced programming.

Join us for a discussion with author Aditi Khorana as she presents her latest novel, Library of Fates. Aditi’s international upbringing included stays in India, Denmark, and New England. She has been a journalist for ABC News, CNN, and PBS, and is currently serving as a marketing consultant for the entertainment industry. In her spare time she enjoys the architecture of Los Angeles and the great outdoors.

Join us for a Moon Tide Press Reading by three authors:

Alexis Rhone Fancher, is the author of: How I Lost My Virginity to Michael Cohen, State of Grace: The Joshua Elegies, Enter Here and Junkie Wife. Her photographs are published worldwide, and she is a multiple Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee. She is also poetry editor of Cultural Weekly.

Ron Koertge taught English and Creative Writing at Pasadena City College for 37 years. He has published more than 25 books of poetry and fiction, most recently: Vampire Planet, Yellow Moving Van, and Coaltown Jesus. He is also 2018 Poet Laureate of South Pasadena, California.

Lee Rossi is the author of four books of poetry: Darwin’s Garden, Wheelchair Samurai, Ghost Diary, and Beyond Rescue.
