Los Angeles Literature Events: 12/15/25 – 12/21/25

Another successful and productive year of building literary community in Greater Los Angeles is winding down. In the face of the Palisades and Eaton fires that destroyed local writers’ homes and communities, the ICE raids that continue to target our fellow brown and immigrant writers, to the funding cuts for the arts, the local literary community continued to foster connections by hosting events, publishing and celebrating book releases, winning awards, and coming together in solidarity against ICE targeting our friends, family and neighbors. This week some local writers to support and foster community with are: Matt Sadillo, jimmy vega, Cory “Besskepp” Cofer, Ingrid M. Calderon-Collins, Bill Mohr, Candice Margarita and Jessica Saravia. A busy week in Los Angeles Literature with the 1st Annual Riverside Book Festival at the Riverside Main Library in Riverside Saturday from 11 am – 6 pm. It’ll feature such local authors as Susan Straight, Cassandra Lane, Judah 1, Diosa X and Isabel Quintero, among others. Los Angeles Literature Events: 3/24/25 – 3/30/25

A huge week in Los Angeles Literature. The annual AWP Conference is in Los Ángeles this week for the first time since 2016. This means there are tons of off-site reading with tons of powerful local writers and writers from out of town in L.Á. for the conference. Some of the off-site readings are listed in the events list and others can be found here: Off-Site Events. Some writers reading locally this week are: Francesca Lia Block, Marcus Clayton, Brynn Saito, Lorna Dee Cervantes, Skye Jackson, Major Jackson, Brandon Som, Sara Borjas and Chen Chen.
