Kids ages 9-12 are invited to a monthly graphic novel book club! Join in the fun as we explore popular graphic novels for tweens. The selection for discussion this month is the award-winning graphic novel, Pie in the Sky, by Remy Lai.

NaNoWriMo Workshop Series via Simi Valley Public Library – Online Event 

Join us for a Virtual NaNoWriMo Workshop series, with session #1, “Getting Started,” and start brainstorming your new novel!

This annual event is a creative writing project in which participants attempt to write a 50,000-word manuscript during the month of November, to jump start their project. Join our virtual workshops to collaborate with others, for feedback and fun.

Cover to Cover Reading Club for Kids, from October 5th – November 13th – Kids Event        

Stop by the Orange Public Library & History Center to sign up for the In-N-Out Cover to Cover Reading Club, which will run until November 13th. Kids ages 4-12 are eligible to participate. For every five books read, each child will receive a Cover to Cover Achievement certificate redeemable for one hamburger, cheeseburger, or gilled cheese. Earn up to three certificates per child, while supplies last.

The Ebell hosts author and speaker Alison Rose Jefferson, who will share her research and findings contained in her book, Living the California Dream: African American Leisure Sites during the Jim Crow Era. UNMUTE! is a month-long generative workshop for writers at all levels. Each week, participants will meet LIVE with poet and writer Brendan Constantine for ninety minutes, to discuss and explore approaches to poetry and discover ways to practice perpetual astonishment. Each class will end with at least one “no pressure” assignment, designed to liberate your own style. Dates of workshop: Sept. 14th, 21st, 28th, and Oct, 5th.
