Los Angeles Literature Events: 3/24/25 – 3/30/25

A huge week in Los Angeles Literature. The annual AWP Conference is in Los Ángeles this week for the first time since 2016. This means there are tons of off-site reading with tons of powerful local writers and writers from out of town in L.Á. for the conference. Los Angeles Literature Events: 2/17/25 – 2/23/25

Literary event this week include the community’s first book festival of the year: The 4th Annual Culver City Book Festival at the Wende Museum. Writers appearing at the Culver City Book Festival include: Gustavo Arellano, CJ Leede, Jesse Katz, Alyesha Wise, Besskepp and Food 4 Thought, among others. 10 am – 5 pm. Love, Migration and Revolution

downloadFriday September 28th at 826LA Mar Vista was electric. The room was packed, filled mostly with people of color and queer people of color. The metal chairs were set in rows facing the front where the writers were about to read. On the right side of the room was a small display of artwork from invited Eastside artist Freddy Negrete, who shared the table with pastries from Portos. Attendees continued to trickle in, conversations adding a welcomed excitement to the room. But when host Mixel Salinas stepped to the mic a focused quiet fell over the audience. 100 Thousand Poets for Change’s Love, Migration, and Revolution reading began.
