There are two festivals, the 28th Annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at USC (Saturday and Sunday) and the 1st Annual Neenach Poetry Festival near Palmdale-Lancaster (Saturday). Local writers reading and signing at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books are: Susan Straight, Alex Espinoza, Donna Spriijt-Metz, Erin Aubry Kaplan, Shane Murray and Lynda La Rose, among others.
