FROM: Kaya Press
[Los Ángeles based Kaya Press] is thrilled to announce the launch of Milkteeth Books, the intern-run chapbook imprint of Kaya Press!
For the past 28 years, Kaya has been a space where Asian and Pacific Islander literature can thrive in its most left-field, provocative ways. [They], the interns of Kaya Press, wanted to create an imprint reflecting those sensibilities with the young and emerging writers of the APIDA diaspora in mind.
[Kaya is] kicking off [their] launch and accepting chapbook manuscripts from emerging APIDA-diasporic writers, artists, and/or creatives. [They’re] looking for experimental works that engage with our theme ellipsis to release as a limited-print chapbook of 15-20 pages.
[Kaya] encourage[s] those who identify as APIDA-diasporic and have not yet released a chapbook-length collection of works to submit. The winner will receive a $200 honorarium + 10 author copies. [They] will be accepting submissions until January 9, 2022 @ 11:59 pm PST.
Check out [Kaya’s] Submittable for general guidlines and more about [their] theme, ellipsis. Read The Press Release Here
