Made in L.A. Writers was founded as an indie author co-op of L.Á. based indie writers dedicated to the support of independent writers. Their styles, themes and story locals differ, but their work is strongly influenced by their hometown and underpinned by the diverse culture and life of L.Á.
They come together to offer mutual support, to raise their voices together and showcase the burgeoning indie author talent in the Los Ángeles area an beyond.
One way Made in L.A. Writers support these independent writers is through their annual anthology series. They are now open for submissions for their fourth volume of short stories. They seek stories that evoke nuanced feelings and leave a lasting impression. They want to meet vibrant characters, hear their distinct voices, and–as always–see the action unfold in a strong Los Ángeles setting.
There is no word count minimum or maximum though Made in L.Á. Writers generally prefer stories in the sweet spot of 2,000 to 10,000 words. They accept previously published stories: please include your story’s publication history in your submissions email.
Full submissions guidelines appear on their website at https://madeinlawriters.com.
