Poets and writers Martha Ronk, Alan Bernheimer & Aaron Kunin will present and discuss their work.

Martha Ronk is a poet, fiction writer, and editor and tests the limits of syntax and literary convention in her work. She is the author of Ocular Proof (2016), Partially Kept (2012), Veritgo (2007, and two chapbooks.

Alan Bernheimer is a poet often associated with the San Francisco Language poets, and a mainstay of the Bay Area poetry scene since 1977. He has published approximately one book every decade since 1980, most recently From Nature.

Aaron Kunin is a poet, critic, and novelist. His most recent book is The Sore Throat and Other Poems (2010). Grace Period, a collection of aphorisms, sketches, and fragments, is forthcoming.

Second Sunday Poetry Series at The Studio Theatre at St. Denis Building

The Second Sunday Poetry Series, hosted by Alex M. Frankel, occurs every second Sunday of the month is where great poets perform their work and sign their books, and mingle with audience members and Open Mic participants.

Featured poets this month are: Cindy Rinne and Bory Thach.

Cindy Rinne creates fiber art and writes in San Bernardino, CA. She was Poet-in-Residence for the Neutra Institute Gallery and Museum, and collaborates in poetry using her own costume creations based on her books. She is the author of Letters Under Rock, with Bory Thach, as well as her books Knife Me Split Memories and Moon of Many Petals.

Bory Thach was born in a refugee camp on the border of Thailand and Cambodia, and immigrated to the U.S. with his family when he was four years old. He served in the U.S. Army in Iraq, and has an MFA from CSU San Bernardino.  For him, poetry is a study of language, an art form in itself. He is co-author of Letters Under Rock.
