Amanda Yates Garcia & Initiated: Memoir of a Witch at Book Soup
Author Amanda Yates Garcia will present and sign her book, Initiated: Memoir of a Witch.
Traditional Wiccan initiates are usually brought into the craft through a ceremony with a High Priestess. Even though the author’s mother was a practicing witch herself, initiated when she was only age 13, Amanda’s real life as a witch only began when she underwent a series of spontaneous initiations of her own. Declaring oneself a witch and practicing magic has everything to do with claiming power and authority for oneself, and deciding to stand up and be brave.
