CHWG Shop Talk: The Power of Memoir with Andrea Wilson Woods is presented by Coffee House Writers Group. When the author first became a patient advocate, she shied away from telling her story. Shonda Buchanan reads from her memoir Black Indian, which begins the saga of these migration stories of Free People of Color communities exploring identity, landscape and loss. The author was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of mixed-bloods, tri-racial and tri-ethnic African American, Indian American, and European-descendant families who migrated from North Carolina and Virginia.

Michael J. Seidlinger is the author of Dreams of My Being, My Pet Serial Killer, and The Fun We’ve Had. He serves a Library and Academic Marketing Manager at Melville House, Editor-at-Large for Electric Literature, and is a member of The Accomplices.
Elizabeth Early is the author of two novels: A Map of Everything and Like Wings, Your Hands. She is also acquisitions editor for Jaded Ibis Press.
Chris L.Terry is author of the novels Black Card and Zero Fade, which was named a Best Book of the Year by Slate and Kirkus Reviews.
