Clockshop invites you to come to The Bowtie Project for an evening around the fire as two Angelenx natives—bestselling novelist Janet Fitch and poet Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo—read new and favorite works while the moon rises over the Los Angeles River.
Janet Fitch is the author of White Oleander and Paint It Black, and a recent pair of novels, The Revolution of Marina M. and Chimes of a Lost Cathedral, set in the Russian Revolution
Chimes of a Lost Cathedral finishes the epic story that began with The Revolution of Marina M., charting a young girl’s journey through some of the most dramatic events of the past century, in which she comes into her full power as a woman and an artist just as the revolution reveals her true direction for the future.
Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo is the author of the collection, Posada: Offerings of Witness and Refuge. She is a co-founder of Women Who Submit and a creative writing instructor with UCLA Extension.
This quarterly Reading by Moonrise was curated by Louise Steinman, former curator of the ALOUD reading series at LAPL.
