Writing Earth Workshop Series with John Brantingham at dA Center for the Arts
In the Writing Earth workshop, John Brantingham will teach you about how to write about the natural world, both in the classroom and in the field. This eight week course includes four field trips to natural spaces in and around the Inland Empire and Pomona Valley, and we will revise and develop our work at the dA center. Participants may have their art included in California Imagism, the April show John is curating.

Christine S. O’Brien & Crave at Diesel Bookstore
Join us to welcome author Christine S. O’Brien to discuss her book, Crave” A Memoir of Food and Longing, a story of family turmoil and incessant hunger hidden behind luxury and privilege in New York’s famed Dakota apartment building. Craving a cure for a malady that the doctors said had no physical basis, the author’s mother resorted to increasingly bizarre nutritional diets before beginning to follow a rigid dietary regime known as “The Program.” This tyranny of the dinner table led the author to her own cravings, for family, for food, and for the words to tell the story of her hunger.
