Lullaby of Teeth Anthology Reading at Village Poets Tujunga
Join us as Village Poets present four poets from Lullaby of Teeth: An Anthology of Southern California Poetry, plus two segments of open mic and refreshments.
Eric Morago is a Pushcart nominated poet, and the author of What We Ache For and Feasting on Sky. He hosts a monthly reading series, teaches writing workshops, and is editor-in-chief of Moon Tide Press.
Armine Iknadossian is the author of United States of Love & Other Poems, and recently was bookstore manager at Beyond Baroque, and recently chosen by Red Hen Press to be one of their Writers in the Schools.
Charles Harper Webb teaches creative writing at CSULB. His latest book, Brain Camp, and his forthcoming collection, Sidebend World, are both from University of Pittsburgh Press. He is working on a novel.
Bill Cushing, teaches at East Los Angeles and Mt. San Antonio Colleges. He is published in two anthologies, Stories of Music and West Trade Review, and his current project, “Notes and Letters” combines poetry with music and can be found on Facebook and YouTube.

Luis Alberto Urrea at Diesel Bookstore
Join us to welcome acclaimed author Luis Alberto Urrea, who will discuss and sign his new book, The House of Broken Angels. In his final days, beloved and ailing patriarch Miguel Angel de la Cruz, affectionately called big Angel, summons his entire clan for one last birthday party. But as the party approaches, his nearly one hundred year old mother dies herself, leading to a farewell doubleheader in a single weekend. Among the guests is Big Angel’s half-brother, Little Angel, who must reckon with the truth that although he shares a father with his siblings, as a half-gringo, he has not shared a life.
