Lynell George Reading at Skylight Bookstore
Please join us as author, essayist, and journalist Lynell George, recent winner at the Grammy Awards for her liner notes on Otis Redding: Live at The Whiskey A Go Go, discusses her new literary collection, After/Image: Los Angeles Outside the Frame (Angel City Press). This is a collection of essays, evocative photographs, profiles, and reportage focused on Los Angeles beneath-the-surface—both the past and the hear-and-now. She asks, what are the after-images, the lasting memories of Los Angeles upon which we reflect? What do people carry around in their own imagination and their hearts? How does the rest of the country look at L.A. and why?
