The Penguin Book of the Undead at the Last Bookstore
Join author Scott G. Bruce, editor of The Penguin Book of the Undead: Fifteen Hundred Years of Supernatural Encounters, with Eric Larkin, to learn about beliefs in the restless dead (ghosts, revenants, etc.) in the distant past, from the Romans to the Renaissance.
Scott G. Bruce is an expert on medieval monasticism, a professor of medieval history, and the director of the Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Eric Larkin is the editor of Dwarf+Giant, the official blog of The Last Bookstore.

Surrealism at Book Soup
Join us to hear Jed Rasula, in conversation with translator Alan Bernheimer, discussing Lost Profiles: Memoirs of Cubism, Dada, and Surrealism by Phillippe Soupault. Poet Alan Bernheimer provides a long overdue English translation of this French literary classic. Lost Profiles is a retrospective of a crucial period in modernism, written by a co-founder of the surrealist movement.
Jed Rasula is an author, and the Helen S. Lanier Distinguished Professor of English at the University of Georgia.

Tippi Hedren at Vroman’s Bookstore
Join us to hear Tippi Hedren discuss and sign Tippi: A Memoir. Join us for a Citizenship Looks Like: Youth Writing Workshop with Leslie Schwarz. Citizenship is broadly defined as being obligated to obey the laws and duties assigned by one’s government in exchange for legal rights and privileges granted by that government. But citizenship is also more than a legal designation. It is also a cultural ideal, infused with moral meanings, values and expectations derived from cultural, social and historical perspectives.
