Eddie Huang at Scripps College
Please join restauranteur, chef, and writer Eddie Huang, whose memoir Fresh Off the Boat, was a rowdy and hilarious take on race and assimilation in America. It later became the first program on a major network to feature an Asian American family. Laurel Ann Bogen is the author of ten books of poetry and short fiction. From 1996 to 2002 she was literary curator at LACMA, and c0-auhtored a grant that created a writers-in-residence program at Beyond Baroque. She has been an instructor at the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program since 1990, and is well known for her lively readings, also performing with the troupe, Nearly Fatal Women.
Amy Uyematsu’s poems consider the intersection of politics, mathematics, spirituality, and the natural world. She is the author of several poetry collections, and her new release is Basic Vocabulary (2017).
Charles Harper Webb is an acclaimed poet and essayist. He has published eleven poetry collections, a novel and a self-help book: Poetry that Heals. He is editor of Stand Up Poetry: An Expanded Anthology, and is now a Professor of English at CSU Long Beach.
