Poet Anna Moschovakis will discuss We Will Get into Trouble for This, and be reading from her work as part of the literary series.
Anna Moschovakis is a poet, editor and translator, the author of several chapbooks, and a member of Ugly Duckling Presse. A core faculty member of the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, she is also a visiting assistant professor at the Pratt Institute.

Laila Lalami at Claremont McKenna College
The Athenaeum hosts a conversation with novelist, short story writer and essayist Laila Lalami who will speak on “For or Against: My Life as a Muslim in the West’s Gray Zone.” Born and raised in Morocco, Lalami is a unique and confident voice in the conversations about race and immigration that increasingly occupy our national attention. Her book The Moor’s Account won the American Book Award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, among other awards. She is currently a professor of creative writing at the University of California Riverside.

New Movement to End Gun Violence at Hammer Forum
With Americans demanding increased action in the wake of multiple mass shootings, the Hammer Forum series explores a growing movement that challenges the gun lobby’s tight grip on Congress. Lisa Cheby’s first chapbook, Love Lessons from Buffy the Vampire Slayer is available through Dancing Girl Press. She is the poetry editor for Annotation Nation, and her poems and reviews have appeared in various journals.
Chad Sweeney is a poet and translator, the author of four books of poetry, and the editor of Ghost Town, the print and online journal of contemporary poetry at CSUSB. He teaches poetry in the MFA program at CSUSB and lives in Redlands with his family.
