PEN USA Emerging Voices at Chevalier’s Books
To celebrate the fellowship’s 20th anniversary, PEN Center USA has opened the Emerging Voices Author Evening Series to the public. Free to PEN Center USA members who bring their Author Evening ticket, which can be purchased at website.
Tis event features important west coast novelists, Lidia Yuknavitch and Cynthia Bond, reading respectively from their novels, The Small Backs of Children and Ruby.
Lidia Yuknavitch is the author of Dora: A Headcase; a memoir; three books of short fiction; a critical book on war and narrative; as well as The Small Backs of Children. She writes, teaches and lives in Portland, Oregon with filmmaker Andy Mingo and their son.
Cynthia Bond is a New York Times bestselling author, and her novel Ruby is the latest Oprah’s Book club 2.0 selection. Ruby has won many awards and Bond is now writing the Ruby screenplay for Harpo Films, and completing the second book in the Ruby trilogy. A native of East Texas, Bond lives in Los Angeles with her daughter.
