Come celebrate the works of Southern California author Michele Serros at Avenue 50 Studios in Highland Park on March 21. Hailing from Oxnard, California, Michele Serros drew on her life experiences and much of her works gave voice to the complexities of lives straddling two worlds: working-class Mexican American heritage and southern California pop culture. She described how she never quite fit in through poems and prose that were both poignant and hilarious.
